Better Balance Fall Prevention and Wellness programs are non-invasive, effective methods to reduce your risk of falls
|
Help prevent falls BEFORE they happen. The staff of Waldo Rehab Health and Wellness are dedicated in helping patients prevent falls using the Better Balance Fall Prevention and Wellness™ four-step program, including, education, evaluating, testing and rehabilitation.
Do you or someone you know suffer from dizzy-spells; fear of falling or fell in the past? If you do then Waldo Rehab Health and Wellness can try to help.
Typically most dizziness or balance disorders are related to the vestibular system. The vestibular system consists of parts of the inner ear and nervous system that control equilibrium, balance and orientation (being able to properly determine whether we are in motion, standing still or objects around us are in motion). Thankfully many people suffering from dizziness or balance disorders are effectively treated using non-invasive, painless procedures. Success rates are very high even for those who may have suffered dizziness for many years.
Balance Evaluations
Identifying balance disorders is crucial to preventing falls. The Better Balance Evaluator helps identify those patients with potential problems in just 60-seconds.
Patients at risk of falls are determined by measuring the patient’s sway while standing on a highly sensitive platform with their eyes open. The same evaluation is performed again with their eyes closed. Patients results are compared to others of the same weight, age and gender, using a complex computer program designed specifically for determining fall risks.
Waldo Rehab Health and Wellness will recommend a specific treatment program that includes further tests and effective techniques designed to correct balance disorders and coupled with rehabilitation.
Upon completing the Better Balance Fall Prevention and Wellness™ patient’s experience increased confidence in a patient’s ability to safely function in their daily lives which improves quality of life for patient and their families and reduces the risk of falling. |
